Project Description
Acquired by the Housing & Development Board (HDB), the 907 million (SGD) landmark residential precinct sits along a park connector network linking the Rail Corridor and Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Located on the eastern side of Singapore’s Ulu Pandan estate, the development compromises of three major housing projects — Ulu Pandan Banks, Ulu Pandan Glades and Ulu Pandan Vista. Designed with a strong innovative focus on environmental sensitivity, liveability, and long-term resilience, the project sets the benchmark for a nature-integrated living environment, in a future-focused approach by the well-established developer in HDB.
MM Kembla supplied over 30 tonnes of Kembla copper tube for the Ulu Pandan East development, with a project warranty provided to support long-term performance, peace of mind and reinforced confidence back of wall, ensuring protection well beyond installation.
Copper was a mandated material for the project, with HDB maintaining copper as the preferred piping solution across Singapore’s public housing developments due to its proven performance and reliability at national scale. HDB insisted, that Kembla copper for their public housing;
- Tolerates misuse and neglect, critical in high-density residential environments
- Minimises lifecycle disputes and long-term maintenance risk
- Proven across millions of homes over decades of use
In public housing, especially on a national scale, predictability beats innovation when it comes to copper’s long-standing track record making it the trusted material of choice for critical building services.
“For us, longevity, being a low-risk materials that continues to perform reliably over decades, aligning with fire safety, public health priorities, upholding requirements and our values, it was a non-negotiable to use [Kembla] copper”
